Regional Adaptation

Extensive testing of Jatropha planting materials under a range of conditions confirms that for optimum productivity, Jatropha must be adapted for particular growing regions.  What grows in one area will not necessary grow well in another; factors to be considered include soil structure, rainfall, humidity, solar radiation, insect pests and microbial pathogens. 

SG Biofuels has established a global research platform, featuring multiple JMax™ R&D centers in a variety of distinct growing regions, anchored by a state-of-the-art research facility in San Diego, California.  The global development platform enables SG Biofuels to test and adapt Jatropha to a range of growing conditions around the world and leverage this bank of regional knowledge to develop elite, adapted hybrid seeds of Jatropha for our customers.
